Examining the MMORPG Genre.

StoryMMORPG is a blog created in order to publish and discuss some thoughts on the growth of online gaming, particularly the impact and potential of the Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. (MMORPG’s)  These games are emerging as a highly popular form of entertainment, and my hope is that they contribute eventually to a more involved entertainment experience that is less oriented around an entertainment consumer, and more oriented on a world in which those same consumers and more essentialyl and proactively involved and aware of production.  I believe that this kind of entertainment medium has great potential for social and educational growth when applied to different topical and dramatic mediums, and I hope to someday see the MMORPG gaming community mature into a rich and complexly informed and involved culture.
